FIRST-TO-WORK


FIRST-TO-WORK is a program of the Department of Human Services for those individuals receiving TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) benefits.

Workforce Development Specialists from our local WDD offices will be working in conjunction with the Department of Human Services to provide these individuals with direct employment assistance and the support services necessary to ensure a successful transition to full time employment.
BENEFITS TO THE EMPLOYER
Recruitment, pre-screening and job placement services at NO COST to the employer.
Workforce Development Specialists act as liaisons between the employer and the First-to-Work employee providing follow-up services to assist in making the transition to work.
Tax credits and other related employer-incentive programs available. (Work Opportunity Tax Credit, Welfare to Work, TOP)

Support services and follow-up services to facilitate a successful transition to work.
