What is SESP?

The State Energy Sector Partnership and Job Training Grant ("SESP") is a 3-year, $6 million award that Hawaii's Department of Labor and Industrial Relations – Workforce Development Council received from the U.S. Department of Labor under funding provided by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act ("ARRA") to help states build their renewable energy and energy-efficiency industries.

The purpose of the SESP training grant is to provide sector strategy training that supports Hawaii's Clean Energy Initiative. An integral component of this sector strategy training is teaching workers the skills required to provide them with long-term jobs in renewable energy and energy-efficiency industries.
