Level 2 continues the content where you learn to implement high availability services, secure the campus infrastructure, and prepare the campus infrastructure for voice, video, and wireless environments. SWITCH Level 2 rounds out the knowledge base you need if you are preparing for CCNP exam number 642-813. At the conclusion of SWITCH Level 2, you will be able to perform the following tasks:


Implement High Availability, given a network design and a set of requirements


- Determine network resources needed for implementing High Availability on a network
- Create a High Availability implementation and verification plan
- Implement first hop redundancy protocols and switch supervisor redundancy
- Verify High Availability solution was implemented properly using show and debug commands and document results


Implement a Security Extension of a Layer 2 solution, given a network design and a set of requirements


- Determine network resources needed for implementing a Security solution
- Create an implementation and verification plan for the Security solution
- Configure port security and general switch security features as well as private VLANs, VACLs, and PACLs
- Verify the Security based solution was implemented properly using show and debug commands and document results


Implement Switch based Layer 3 services, given a network design and a set of requirements


- Determine network resources needed for implementing a Switch based Layer 3 solution
- Create an implementation and verification plan for the Switch based Layer 3 solution
- Configure routed interfaces and SVIs for Layer 3 Security
- Verify the Switch based Layer 3 solution was implemented properly using show and debug commands and verify results


Prepare infrastructure to support advanced services
- Implement a Wireless Extension of a Layer 2 solution
- Implement a VoIP and video support solution


Required Preparation: Completion of SWITCH v1.0-Implementing Cisco IP Switched Networks Level 1


Course Competencies:  At the end of this course, the student will be able to:
