Clinical Medical Assistant

This program offers training for students interested in clinical medical assisting. Clinical medical assistants assist doctors and patients in physicians' back offices, clinics, and outpatient departments of hospitals. They also are employed as assistants in laboratories or other health service areas. Students will need to complete a 225 hour externship at a medical site. At the completion of the program students take the Registered Medical Assistant exam. This is a nationally recognized certification exam of the American Medical Technologists. Students will also be able to take the Phlebotomy Technician and the EKG Technician exam through the National Healthcareer Association.
Graduates receive a diploma and are eligible to sit for certification exams.
