Apiary Program-Intro to Beekeeping

Description

This two-session course is for beginners, hobbyists and people wanting to know more about beekeeping. The first lab/lecture class covers hive equipment, basic protective equipment, honeybee biology and how to get started. 


 

The final session is in the apiary where participants will inspect various hives in the college apiary. Students will need closed toed shoes for the field day; protective equipment (veil, jacket and gloves) is provided.
